Who We Support
ME and MOM, a program of Love & Time, supports mothers facing complicated pregnancies by connecting them to timely, compassionate mental health care when they need it most. Through our partnership with BetterHelp, we help remove barriers to care by providing access to licensed therapists at no cost, ensuring mothers navigating high-risk pregnancies, infertility, loss, or postpartum challenges are not alone. Our approach is rooted in the belief that emotional well-being is essential to both mother and baby, and by offering early support, we help reduce stress, improve outcomes, and empower women with the tools and reassurance they need during one of the most vulnerable times in their lives.
Heart Babies
Congenital heart defects (CHDs) are among the most common birth defects, affecting nearly 1 in 100 babies in the United States each year. When a mother receives this diagnosis during pregnancy, it can trigger overwhelming fear, uncertainty, and grief about her baby’s health and future. Studies show that women carrying a fetus diagnosed with a CHD experience significantly higher rates of anxiety, depression, and traumatic stress compared to low-risk pregnancies. The emotional impact often extends beyond the mother, affecting partners, siblings, and the entire family system as they navigate medical appointments, possible surgeries, and long-term care planning. ME and MOM understand the emotional toll of a complicated pregnancy and is here to help by connecting mothers to licensed mental health professionals at no cost—so no mother has to face this journey alone.
Military Families
Military families face unique stressors during pregnancy, especially when a service member is deployed. Research shows that military spouses experience higher rates of anxiety and depressive symptoms compared to civilian counterparts, with some studies estimating that up to 1 in 4 military spouses report significant stress or depression during deployment periods. When a pregnancy is already complicated or high-risk, the emotional burden can intensify due to isolation, limited in-person support, and uncertainty. Chronic stress and untreated depression during pregnancy have been linked to increased risks of preterm birth, low birth weight, and adverse maternal health outcomes. The impact extends beyond the mother, affecting the emotional stability of the entire family system. ME and MOM understand these challenges and is here to help by connecting mothers to licensed mental health professionals at no cost—providing compassionate support during one of life’s most vulnerable seasons.
NICU Families
Having a baby admitted to the NICU can be an emotionally overwhelming experience for a mother. Research shows that up to 40–50% of mothers with infants in the NICU experience symptoms of postpartum depression, and many also report significant anxiety or post-traumatic stress symptoms. The uncertainty of medical outcomes, constant monitoring alarms, physical separation from their baby, and feelings of helplessness can take a profound emotional toll. For many mothers, what was expected to be a joyful bonding period becomes filled with fear, exhaustion, and isolation. Prolonged stress and untreated depression can impact both maternal well-being and early bonding. ME and MOM understand how difficult this season can be and is here to help by connecting mothers to licensed mental health professionals at no cost—so no mother has to navigate the NICU journey alone.
